Au'revoir to Paper Cupcakes :-(

Evening All. Just a quickie - since I last posted on here, I've had a nightmare with my 'puter and haven't been able to upload any pics. What made it all the worst was it meant that I missed posting my last DT card for Paper Cupcakes on Monday. But - I'd made it, so I wanted to share it and say a warm farewell to Nina, the lady behind the images. I've really enjoyed my time working with the team and Nina is now someone I consider a friend. I'll always be grateful as she was the first one to give me a chance to be on a DT. The challenge this week is Blast From the Past, and Ildiko wants us to do a card or project that reflects the 20s/30s era. I had in my head for this period, that kind of art deco shape and so this is what I came up with:
Ingredients:
Image - Paper Cupcakes coloured with promarkers.
Papers and sentiment - DCWV.
Other - Rolled roses made with MFT die and viva decor glitter pen used in centre.

Well, I hope you like it - and I hope you're all doing good this week. I'm off to craft - and to watch 'Millionaire Matchmaker', have you seen it? It's hilarious!!! I'll be back tomorrow (with about 3 different posts - got a bit of a clash situation goin' on!) TTFN.............x

Some more handmade flowers!!

Evening! Told ya I'd be back! Now before I get to my card, I just wanted to tell you something exciting that happened yesterday....we went to a 'fun day' at Woolwich Barracks which is near to where I live. As we got there, Sam said to me, 'oh look, there's that bloke from Dancing on Ice', so I'm looking and couldn't see who he was talking about, then he said 'over there....Johnson whatsiname' and when I looked it was Johnson Beharry. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is the first living recipient of the Victoria Cross in over 30 years. The Victoria Cross is the highest medal for valour in the British Armed Forces and he won the medal for twice saving the lives of members of his unit - the second time, he'd been severely wounded but still went on to save others. I felt really proud to be in the company of such a brave and inspirational man. It's not often these days that you can say you've seen a real life hero!!!
OK - back to the business of cardage! Pollycraft are having a DT call at the moment and since the release of Sonny Honeycloud, Swings and Slides and Chester, I seem to be falling more in love with their images with each new release and so what would I love more than anything but to be on their design team and get to work with these images all the time!!?? Here's the card I made using one of the freebie images for the DT call:
Ingredients:
Image - Pollycraft coloured with promarkers.
Papers - Basic Grey.
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.
Other - Border made using MS punch and Flowers made by punching holes in BG chipboard shapes, layering up with flowers cut with Slice and threading with baker's twine. Gems from stash.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Well, I think that's about it from me for now. Please wish me luck with the DT call...I'll certainly be keeping everything crossed! And thanks for visiting and spending some time with me!! I'm off to craft...and watch Hawaii 5-0! TTFN...............xx

My first Bildmalarna.......

Morning folks. I hope the sun is shining down on you today like it is here in London!! It really is a beautiful day - love it when it's like this, it always makes everything seem better and I just feel happier. Does the sunshine make you feel like that?
There's a new challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp today and this week, Maggie has designed a great sketch. Here's the card I made with it:

So - what d'you think? Do you like the matting with kraft card? I must admit to 'case-ing' this idea from Pops, who does it alot and I always think it looks gorgeous - and Pops, I really hope you don't mind me doing it. If you've not visited Pops' blog before, you really must cos she makes the most beautiful cards!!! And do you like my flowers? I used my Slice to cut out 3 flowers and layered them all together with a glittery brad.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Right, I think that's about it for now but I'll be back later! Thanks for visiting me and any comments you might leave - and don't forget to join in the challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Enjoy your day.........specially if the sun's shining!!!!

Boys and their toys...........

The good news is it's nearly the end of the week - and for me, it's nanny and grandad's turn this weekend to have my son, so I've got a whole weekend of crafting uninterrupted - whoop, whoop!! The bad news is that the weather (here in London at least!), is absolutely dreadful!! We've had so much rain today, I started to wonder if it'd ever stop!
Anyways, I originally made this card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday (followed their sketch) and LOTV's Anything Goes challenge but with one thing and another, I didn't get to post it until both those deadlines had gone but I've been catching up in blogland and discovered that it fitted into Colour Create's challenge perfectly, so here it is:
Ingredients:
Image - Lili of the Valley watercoloured with Distress Inks.
Papers - My Mind's Eye Lost and Found.
Embellishments - Buttons and Felt Ribbon both MME Lost and Found.
Other - Border die cut with Nellie's Multi-Frame Border.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
OK - that's all from me for tonight, I'm off to settle down at the crafting table and to watch some TV. Enjoy the rest of your evenings...........xx

Something Kinda Special!

Hello again! This is the card that I wanted to share with you yesterday and spent into the early hours trying to get online to post it - mainly because the challenge over at Teddy Bo ended at midnight last night and it was also a DT call. Luckily, I sent a pic via email to the lovely Gayle and she very kindly uploaded it to the challenge blog for me. Since I first saw one of these bears over on Edna's blog a while back, Teddy Bo and Bea have held a special place in my heart - and not just mine by all accounts - they seem to have swept through blogland and I'm not seeing them everywhere!! I would love to be on the DT and have an excuse to work with them all the time LOL!!
OK, now the title of my post is 'something kinda special' and I really hope you don't think I'm being big headed but I thought I'd try out something new when I made this card and I really was pleased with how it turned out.....................

Ingredients:
Image - Teddy Bo. coloured with prismacolour pencils blended with sansodor.
Papers - First Edition Spring Feast.

Pick two!

Sorry I didn't get to post again yesterday, I had problems with t'internet again and didn't manage to get online again til the early hours of the morning. I did think it was my computer but now it's happened a couple of times in as many weeks, I'm beginning to wonder if it's anything to do with my internet provider. Is anyone else with AOL? Any probs with them?
Anyway!! There's a new challenge today over at Paper Cupcakes and this week, Gloria wanted us to pick two of the following to use on our projects: Flowers, Ribbon, Pearls/Gems and/or Die Cuts. There's also a fab freebie image to work with, if you choose - and it even comes with two sentiments! Here's my card:

I used the Paper Cupcakes freebie image (and sentiment), coloured with promarkers and die cut with nesties. I thought I'd try a new shape card - what d'you think? I've used Papermania papers and added some ribbon from my stash. And that's it!
Short and sweet from me for now! I'm off to take the dog for a quick walk and then I'm going to hit the crafting table with I watch the rest of Game of Thrones!! TTFN.............xx

Something for the boys!

Morning all. Hope you're having fab weekends! Today there's a new sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and Lisa has designed a fab sketch for everyone to work with. Here's my card:
I've used an adorable image from Pollycraft (I love this range!), which I've coloured with promarkers - with a bit of glossy accents for his specs. All the papers are MME Lime Twist (something else I love - such fun, colourful designs!) and I've added a star border cut with a MFT die, some colour me star buttons and a sentiment sticker from my stash.
I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
  • Crazy 4 Challenges - Challenge # 91 Masculine cards.
  • Fussy and Fancy - Card for a man or boy.
  • Joyful Stamper - Anything Goes.
  • Mami Doodles - Challenge 2827 Card for a man or boy.
  • Little Miss Muffett Challenges - Challenge # 11 Numbers.
  • CES Challenges - Challenge # 40 Saturday night at the movies. My film is 'Stand by Me' - as I keep looking at this card, it's keeps reminding me of, I think it was River Phoenix who played the little boy with the glasses, and the scene at the beginning where they're all riding their bikes. I hope someone else who's seen the film knows what I'm on about LOL!!!
OK - and that's about it from me. I'll be back later with more cardage. Gotta dash cos I've got to take the little muttster for a walk, then I've got to drop Sam round at a friend's cos he's off to one of those huge indoor play places, then I've got to go and pick my aunt up and bring her over. Once I've got all that out the way, I can spend the rest of the afternoon crafting - whoop, whoop!!!! I hope you'll join in with this week's sketch. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday - whatever you might be doing, make it a good one!! Bye for now........xx

Two very special Thank You's and a New Look!

Just a quick post to ask if you like my new look? As you may know, I was lucky enough to win some custom artwork from the super talented Krista Smith, who illustrates the images for Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range, and so I decided to have myself turned into a 'Sassy' - OMG hasn't she done a fantastic job right down to the little details like my love of leopard print and butterflies and if you look closely, she's even put the tattoo on my foot!!! Only thing is - I wish I was that pretty LOL!!!! Huge thanks to you, Krista - if you only knew how chuffed I am!!
And the other huge thanks must go to the lovely and also very talented - Angie. I'd seen other blog header's created by Angie and got in touch this morning and after a couple of emails, the beauty that now sits at the top of my blog appeared this afternoon!!! Talk about speedy turnaround and I absolutely LOVE it!!! So Angie, thank you, thank you, thank you hun (and if any of you ever need a custom header - you know where to go!!!)
I'm so happy with how my blog is looking now - I'd love to know what you think - and of Sassy 'me' and my gorgeous new header - let me know!!! Mwah...................xxxx

OK - that's it from me. I'm off to melt in my chair because it's already quite warm and I've got to have the heating on full blast to try and dry my son's one and only pair of shoes that he can wear to school cos he took it upon himself to go jumping in puddles this afternoon!!! Typical boy! He only had to put his wellies on. If you don't hear from me tomorrow send someone round and I'll be a little puddle of goo!! LOL! Bye for now...........x

Don't call me Goddess......

Hi Everyone. I hope you're still with me. I'm really not joking when I say that anything that can go wrong, is at the moment! Even my computer went wrong the last couple of days, so I've got loads to catch up with - posts to do and all of you to visit. But I'm trying to keep my chin up and thanks to all of you who have left me some lovely messages and been supportive. I don't know what I'd do without all my blog friends!
There's a new sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp today, and here's the card I made following it:
I've used a Tiddly Inks image which I've coloured with promarkers. The sentiment is from Elzybells and I LOVE it, just so sassy!! (In case you can't read it, it says: 'Don't call me goddess, don't call me queen, just call me the cutest princess you've ever seen') The paper is from Imaginisce and I've just added butterflies punched with my MS punch and gems from my stash. I've kept it CAS!
I'm also entering it into the Tiddly Inks Challenge 52 - Darling Diva. And that's it from me for now. I'll be round today to catch up with you all and I hope you take part in the SS&S challenge. Am off to take the dog for a walk and then I'll be glued to the computer!! TTFN!
